A Chistmas trip to Olympia provides plenty of inspiration.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Here we are, the other side of Christmas and ready to get stuck into 2016. I hope everyone had a great festive season (mine was lovely other than the brief sickness bug in the middle!).

Since my last blog Herbie has come in from the wild and looked very woolly and a little bit fat but it was nice to see he’d had a proper rest and seemed raring to go (quite literally!). After a few days on the lunge we were back in the swing of things and he really felt like he’d benefited from the rest. Since then he has been clipped and we’ve been back at Zoe’s being put through our paces….mainly in the rain!

We are aiming towards the dressage regionals at the beginning of February so we’re really putting in the hours but Herbie is also getting plenty of time out on the roads and bridle paths as I feel he always performs at his best when he’s fresh and loving his job so want to make sure we keep things fun.

As a Christmas treat mum took me to Olympia to watch the dressage to music which was absolutely brilliant. The standard was incredible and it really was a joy to watch. Carl Hester won on his horse Nip Tuck with Charlotte Dujardin and Uthopia in 2nd. If the Brit’s performances were anything to go by we should certainly be looking forward to Rio!

It’s all systems go now and it’s lovely to be back in the saddle and working towards this year’s goals (I’m hoping Herbie is channelling his inner Nip Tuck!!).

Have a great 2016 everyone!
