JOLYSE FINISHES 9TH AT CATTON

"Ive just come back from Catton and had a very good 2 days.  Alphonso who is owned by Nigel and Julie Davis won the BE100 on a fantastic score of 23. My own horse On Stage  ( On Springs aka Clovers daughter) did the BE100 but because she went double clear in her last novice course she gained a point so had to go HC.  If she had been competitive she would have won on a score of 20.5.
Clover had her first run after Bramham scoring a 30.5 dressage and jumped double clear in the Intermediate with 15 time faults. My trainers, Ian and Heidi Woodhead, said the time at Catton is tight but we finished 9th in a very competitive section! Next week it's Cumwhinton where Alphonso and On Stage will be competing in the Novice Class".

Jolyse retires from the Cross Country section at Bramham

We've been updating our blog with details about our sponsored rider, Jolyse Clancey.  Sadly, Jolyse's good start to the international 3 day event didn't continue into the cross country.

"I started off really well  (flew through the water!) and then, coming up to near my half way marker and up on my time, I came too quickly into the double of corners on a turn.  I did the first corner really well but swung out too far on the turn and lost my line to the second corner so ended  up doing 2 circles  (40 penalties) to try and get back on my line.  As it is still quite early in the season I decided to save my horse for another day and retire. She's running in a weeks time at Catton Horse Trials and will be aimed for Blair or Blenheim 3 star".

BRAMHAM UPDATE

Well done to Jolyse, who at the time of blogging is currently lying equal 3rd with a dressage score of 50.4.

"I'm really pleased with how things have gone today.  Clover can be quiet but I tried hard to get some expression from her and it paid off".

Ian Woodhead, Jolyse trainer, thought that she would go 16 marks better than last year and he was absolutely spot on!

Jolyse competes in the cross country section tomorrow.
